Plagiocephaly (commonly known as Flat Head Syndrome) is quite common in newborns. In the majority of cases, it is due to the fact that infants spend many hours lying on their back on a firm surface (mattress, cot, crib...). Given their skull is still soft and malleable it tends to flatten.

In some cases, plagiocephaly can lead to rather serious consequences for your baby's cognitive and motor development, thus, it is a good idea to take immediate measures for flat head prevention.
